The answer

You cannot order this through milkatlas in the United States. The sellers below ship it there.
HiPP International Stage 2 is HiPP Austria's English-language export box of its organic Combiotic follow-on formula, labelled from six months for babies eating solid food, made in Germany and listed by HiPP in Lithuania and Latvia. Its recipe is the German Stage 2 without starch, value for value: lactose is its only carbohydrate, and it adds galacto-oligosaccharides and the culture L. fermentum. It comes in an 800 g box, one 4.5 g scoop per 30 ml of water, and matches the Dutch Stage 2 per 100 ml.
Key takeaways
- A follow-on formula from six months, part of a mixed diet, from HiPP Austria's English export range.
- Its recipe is the German Stage 2 without starch, value for value, not the German Stage 2 with starch.
- It also matches the Dutch Stage 2 on every row both packs print, and adds a chloride row the Dutch tin leaves out.
- HiPP says moving on from a first formula is possible but not required, and the NHS sees no benefit in switching at six months.

Values from HiPP's label for its export range, checked 18 September 2026. The last column is the range for follow-on formula in Regulation (EU) 2016/127, Annex II, per 100 kcal unless it says per 100 ml. The label prints values per 100 ml only, so the per 100 kcal column is calculated from them.
How do you prepare it?
Boil fresh drinking water and let it cool to 40 to 50 °C, pour it into the bottle and add one level scoop (4.5 g) for every 30 ml. Shake it, cool it to about body temperature and check it; use an opened sachet within 3 weeks.3
| Water | Scoops | Powder | Feed size | Water temp. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30 ml · 1 fl oz | 1 | 4.5 g | 33 ml · 1.1 fl oz | 40 to 50 °C · 104 to 122 °F |
| 90 ml · 3 fl oz | 3 | 13.5 g | 100 ml · 3.4 fl oz | 40 to 50 °C · 104 to 122 °F |

| 210 ml · 7 fl oz | 7 | 31.5 g | 233 ml · 7.9 fl oz | 40 to 50 °C · 104 to 122 °F |
One scoop is 4.5 g, level, not packed. The feed size column is the volume in the bottle after the powder dissolves.
- Boil fresh drinking water and allow it to cool down to approx. 40-50 °C*.
- HiPP's first step, printed in English on the box.
- *in order not to harm the natural lactic acid cultures (lactobacilli), please do not prepare the formula with water that is too hot.
- The reason HiPP gives for the cooler water.
- 1 level measuring scoop = 4.5 g HiPP 2 Combiotic®
- One level scoop weighs 4.5 g.
How much should a baby drink?
| Made-up bottle | Boiled water | Scoops |
|---|---|---|
| 170 ml | 150 ml | 5 |
| 200 ml | 180 ml | 6 |
| 235 ml | 210 ml | 7 |
The pack gives bottle sizes rather than ages, so this is what it prints and all it prints. How much a child takes varies, and a hungry or sleepy child is a better guide than the table. The pack says a child needs about 5 of these a day.
The box gives bottle sizes rather than ages, and says each new solid meal replaces one bottle.3
Who is it for, and who is it not for?
The box says exclusive breastfeeding is best for the first six months, and that like any follow-on formula this one is for babies from six months as part of a mixed diet, not a breast milk substitute before then; an earlier switch is for the pediatrician to advise.3
It is made from cow's milk and contains fish oil, so it is not for a baby with a diagnosed cow's milk protein allergy, and it is not lactose-free.310

Baby loves it! Definitely would recommend to anyone. Very minimal spit, if any. Poops don’t smell as bad as when using other formulas. No blow outs either.

My granddaughter loves this formula. She has done very well with it
Questions parents ask
When can a baby start HiPP International Stage 2?
From six months, the box says, as part of a mixed diet for a baby eating solid food; it is not a breast milk substitute in the first six months, and the box asks you to consult your pediatrician before an earlier switch.
Is it the same as the German Stage 2?
It matches the German Stage 2 without starch, every value in the table and every ingredient in the same order. The German Stage 2 with starch is a different recipe. The export box holds 800 g against 600 g, is printed in English, and carries a badge claiming clinical proof that the German box does not.
Does a baby on Stage 1 need to move to Stage 2?
No. HiPP's German advice says moving on from a first formula is possible but not required, and the NHS says there is no benefit in switching to a follow-on formula at six months.
Why does HiPP Lithuania's page call it infant formula?
The Lithuanian page title uses the term for infant formula, but the box says organic follow-on milk from six months, and the page sits among HiPP Lithuania's follow-on formulas. This site follows the box.
How many scoops for a bottle?
One level scoop of 4.5 g for every 30 ml of water. The box gives three bottles, 5 scoops in 150 ml, 6 in 180 ml and 7 in 210 ml, and says babies need about 5 meals a day, each new solid meal replacing a bottle.
What do the trials cited on the box show?
The box cites two 2012 trials; in both, every baby had galacto-oligosaccharides and only the added culture was tested, with fewer gastrointestinal infections in babies given it.
Is HiPP International Stage 2 approved by the FDA?
No. The FDA does not approve infant formulas, and this box is made in Germany for HiPP's export range. No HiPP formula is on the FDA's list of formulas marketed in the United States, and the box has no US nutrition facts panel.
Is it organic?
Yes. The box carries the EU organic logo, and its milk, whey product, oils, lactose and galacto-oligosaccharides are marked organic.
