The answer
milkatlas collects as little as it can. Google Analytics, run through Google Tag Manager, records which pages are read, which seller links are followed and what goes into the cart, and Google's tag sets cookies, one of them for advertising. Our own click count keeps nothing about you. Your cart stays in your browser until checkout, when it goes to our partner retailer, Organic Life Start, whose privacy policy covers the order. We never collect your name, your payment or anything about your baby.
| What | What happens |
|---|---|
| The pages you read | Google Analytics records which pages you open, the site that sent you, your device and browser, and your rough location: the country and city, worked out from your internet address. Google does not keep the address itself. |
| Cookies | Google Analytics sets cookies, such as _ga, to tell one visit from the next. They hold a random number, not your name, and last up to two years unless you delete them. |
| Advertising cookie | Google's tag also sets _gcl_au, a Google Ads cookie that measures what Google's ads lead to on this site. It holds a random number, not your name, and lasts 90 days unless you delete it. |
| Seller links and the cart | When you open a link to a seller, add a pack to your cart or go to checkout, Google Analytics records it, with the product and the seller. Our own count of the same clicks keeps the page, the seller and the product, and no cookie, no internet address and nothing else about you. |
| Your cart | It is kept in your browser, on your device, not on our servers. At checkout its packs go to Organic Life Start, our partner retailer, and its privacy policy covers your order from then on. |
| Forms | If you ask for an email when something changes, or write to us through the contact form, Netlify keeps what you send for us. We use your email address for that one email or to answer you, and nothing else, and we delete a signup once its email is sent. |
| What we never collect | Your name, your postal address, your payment details, or anything about your baby. The calculators and the stage finder work in your browser, and what you type into them is never sent. |
| Who else sees it | Google, which runs Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads for us, and Netlify, which hosts the site and, like any host, receives your internet address with each page it sends. We pass what we collect to no one else. |
| Your choices | Block or delete cookies in your browser's settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on, and Google Analytics stops counting you. Every page works the same either way. |
