The answer

Catalogue entry. No seller we track ships it to the markets we cover.
HiPP UK First Infant Milk ready to feed 470 ml is the larger bottle of HiPP's organic first milk, article GB20500-01, labelled from birth and sold by the case of six. The milk is the same as the 200 ml bottle: the same ingredients, the same ten values per 100 ml, the same feeding guide. The instructions differ in one line, and it is the line about warming.
Key takeaways
- The same organic first milk as the 200 ml bottle, in a 470 ml bottle for more than one feed.
- Article GB20500-01, its own number, where the smaller bottle's matches the German PRE bottle's earlier print.
- HiPP UK tells you to warm this one in water to about 37 °C, not to offer it at room temperature.
- One bottle covers more than one feed, so the 24 hour fridge rule matters more here than on the small bottle.

What is in HiPP UK First Infant Milk ready to feed 470 ml?
The list is the one on the small bottle, word for word: organic whey product, organic skimmed milk and cream, organic lactose, organic sunflower and rapeseed oils, galacto-oligosaccharides from organic lactose and a lecithin emulsifier.12
No fish oil, no palm oil and no lactic culture. The long-chain fats come from algal oil and Mortierella alpina oil, and the allergen line names milk alone.1

Values from HiPP's product page for the United Kingdom, checked 21 September 2026. The last column is the range for infant formula in Regulation (EU) 2016/127, Annex I, per 100 kcal unless it says per 100 ml. HiPP gives values per 100 ml only, so the per 100 kcal column is calculated from them.
How do you prepare it?
Wash your hands, sterilise the feeding bottle and teat, check the cap and seal, and shake the bottle. Pour what you need, stand it in warm water to about 37 °C, shake again and check the temperature. Never use a microwave.1
Nothing is added: the bottle is already at drinking strength. Pour out what you need, warm it to about 37 °C, check it at about 37 °C, and keep an opened bottle in the fridge for no longer than 24 hours.
- Check the best-before date, and that the cap and seal are intact, then shake the bottle well.
- Sediment before shaking is normal, and HiPP says so on the label.
- Heat to drinking temperature (37°C) by standing the bottle in warm water and shake again vigorously.
- The instruction that differs from the small bottle, which may be given at room temperature.
- Feed immediately and discard unfinished milk at the end of the feed.
- What goes into the feeding bottle is used or thrown away; it does not go back.
- Unused feed in this bottle should be refrigerated immediately (below 5°C) and used within 24 hours.
- The rest of the big bottle keeps a day in the fridge.
How much should a baby drink?

| Weeks 3 to 4 | 5 to 7 | 100 ml | 500 to 700 ml |
| Weeks 5 to 8 | 5 to 6 | 135 ml | 675 to 810 ml |
| Months 2 to 4 | 5 | 170 ml | 850 ml |
| Month 5 | 4 to 5 | 200 ml | 800 to 1000 ml |
| Month 6 | 4 | 235 ml | 940 ml |

| Months 10 to 12 | 3 | 135 ml | 405 ml |
HiPP's own chart from the pack; milk a day is feeds times the bottle. Babies vary, and a hungry or sleepy baby is a better guide than the table.
HiPP UK prints one guide for both bottle sizes, by age and typical weight, from the first fortnight to the end of the first year. Against it, a 470 ml bottle is two feeds and a bit for a five-month-old.1

Questions parents ask
Is the 470 ml the same milk as the 200 ml?
Yes. Same ingredients in the same order, the same value on every row of the panel, same feeding guide, same country of origin. It has its own article number because it is its own pack, not because the recipe changed.
Why does HiPP tell you to warm this one?
The 470 ml instructions say to heat it to drinking temperature by standing the bottle in warm water, then shake it again vigorously. The 200 ml instructions for the same milk offer room temperature or warmed, whichever you prefer. HiPP does not explain the difference anywhere we can find, and we will not invent a reason for it. Both labels forbid the microwave.
How many feeds are in a bottle?
It depends on the age. At the 200 ml feed HiPP's guide gives for five months, a little over two; for a newborn taking 70 ml, more like six, though the fridge rule limits how many you can actually use.
How long can I keep it once opened?
Refrigerate what is left in the bottle straight away, below 5 °C, and use it within 24 hours. Milk you have poured into a feeding bottle is separate: finish it within two hours.
Do I pour it straight into the bottle?
Into a sterilised feeding bottle, and shake the big bottle well first. Sediment at the bottom before shaking is normal, and HiPP prints that on the label.
Is the big bottle cheaper per feed?
Per millilitre it usually is, because a case of six holds more than twice the milk of a case of small bottles. Whether it is cheaper in practice depends on how much you pour away unused.
Can I freeze what is left?
No. HiPP's instruction is the fridge, and its labels in this range say not to freeze. Formula that has been frozen and thawed is outside anything HiPP has tested or advises.
Is it suitable from birth?
Yes, from birth. A newborn takes small feeds, though, so most of a bottle this size would go straight to the fridge.
Where is it made?
Germany, as the label says, and so is the 200 ml bottle. The follow-on and growing-up bottles in the same British range are made in Austria, so this range is split between two countries, and HiPP prints which one on every label. The German ready-to-feed bottles are all made in Germany.
Does it contain palm oil?
No. Its vegetable oils are organic sunflower and organic rapeseed, and its long-chain fats come from algal oil and Mortierella alpina oil, so there is no palm oil and no fish oil in it.

Corrections (1)
- The page had said the same milk is sold in Germany as the PRE ready-to-feed bottle. HiPP changed that bottle's recipe in 2026, adding taurine and more magnesium, and the page now says the German bottle held this milk until then. (before publication)
