HiPP scoop converter
The answer
Every HiPP formula on record here uses one level scoop for every 30 ml of water, but the scoop's weight depends on the product: 4.3 g for Dutch Stage 1 and German PRE, and 4.4 g for German Stage 1. Enter the water for one bottle, in millilitres or fluid ounces, and the converter returns the level scoops, the grams of powder and, where HiPP prints its standard dilution, the finished feed. Use the scoop that came with the pack.

How many scoops for your bottle?
Each pack's preparation panel prints the ratio the converter uses: one level scoop for every 30 ml of water, the water first and the powder after it.123
Level Filled loosely, then struck flat against the edge built into the pack.
Heaped More powder than the chart allows for: the bottle mixes too strong.
Pressed down Looks level, but packing the powder in adds weight the chart never allowed for.
One level scoop to every 30 ml of water, on every HiPP infant and follow-on formula this site has checked.
Why does each HiPP formula come with its own scoop?
The scoops weigh different amounts, 4.3 g for Dutch Stage 1, 4.3 g for German PRE and 4.4 g for German Stage 1, so a scoop from one pack measures a different amount of another powder.123
HiPP's instruction on the German packs is to use only the scoop that comes in the pack.23
The German packs also print the standard dilution: 12.9 g of PRE or 13.1 g of Stage 1 in 90 ml of water makes 100 ml of feed. That is where the converter's finished feed comes from.23
What does each HiPP scoop weigh?
| Product | Scoop | Water per scoop | 150 ml feed |

| HiPP German PRE | 4.3 g | 30 ml | 5 scoops · 21.5 g |
| HiPP German Stage 1 | 4.4 g | 30 ml | 5 scoops · 22.0 g |

Questions parents ask
How many scoops of HiPP for 150 ml of water?
Five level scoops for every HiPP formula on record here, since each takes one scoop for every 30 ml of water. The grams differ with the scoop, and the converter shows them for your product.
Can I use the scoop from another HiPP pack?
No. The scoops weigh different amounts, and HiPP's instruction on the German packs is to use only the scoop that comes in the pack, so a scoop from another product measures a different amount of powder.
Does the converter work in fluid ounces?
Yes. Choose fl oz and enter the water; it works in millilitres, rounds to whole scoops and shows the result in both units.
Is the finished feed the same for every HiPP powder?
Nearly. On every one of the 36 powders on record here, HiPP prints that 90 ml of water makes 100 ml of feed; what differs is the powder in it: 12.9 g for the Dutch tin and the German PRE, for instance, and 13.1 g for the German Stage 1, whose scoop is heavier.
Why is the finished feed more than the water?
The powder takes up room. On the German packs, 90 ml of water and the powder make 100 ml of feed.

- The page had said HiPP prints that 90 ml of water makes 100 ml of feed on all three packs on record. The records now hold the standard dilution for all 36 powders, and every one prints the same; the page now says so, with the count from the product records.
